Hello Beautiful Humans!

Thank you for joining me in this virtual space. My name is Paulina Joy Schaefer and I am a Yoga Teacher and Freelance Dance Artist.

As a dancer, movement has always been an essential part of my life and yoga has just furthered my love of it. In 2019, I completed my 200 hour YTT at Saraswati’s Yoga Joint and it was one of the best things I have ever done for myself. Not only did it deepen my practice exponentially, but it gave me the opportunity to strengthen my relationship to mind, body and spirit. I realized that the real work is showing up for ourselves.

I am passionate about holding a space for you to discover and nurture your gifts with the practice of yoga on and off the mat. Life doesn’t depend on being able to get your foot behind your head, but on creating a set of tools you can use beyond the mat. When I started yoga, my ego ran the show, but I soon realized that it was more about turning inwards, relearning my heart, and finding the trust and freedom to live an authentic life.

FOUNDATIONS FLOW:
Beginner level/Basic

In this class the basic, foundational yoga postures are practiced to align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body. Breathing techniques and meditation are also integrated. You can expect an emphasis on simplicity, repetition, and ease of movement. Full-body relaxation and balance are the goals, as we make a full circuit of the body’s range of motion with standing postures, twists, backbends, forward folds, and hip openers.

VINYASA FLOW:
Recommended for people with a consistent yoga practice.​

Vinyasa (translates to “flowing with breath”) is a dynamic style of yoga which joins physical postures, or asanas, with inhales and exhales, creating a steady internal rhythm for the practice. Vinyasa Flow classes are designed to cultivate heat in the body with creative sequences involving sun salutations, standing and seated postures, back bending, arm balancing, and a strong focus on the power of breath awareness.
